Damon, Is it true? You've got WLS coming up on Dec. 16? I've been away from the boards and missed your getting a solid date! Have the Greatest Ever !! About Time!! Damon, I am proud of you for not giving up on your dream of the WLS. It took me 2 1/2 years to get that approval letter in my hands. It felt so awesome to finally see it in writing and so hard to believe it was actually going to happen. I had my surgery six months ago. I started out at 310 pounds on a 5"1 frame. I was wide as I was tall. LOL And as of this morning I weigh 162 pounds. I cannot believe the difference in my life, and my health. I have NO REGRETS on having the WLS.. Its not the easy way out people LOVE to tell you it is. But its a livable enjoyable life. I thought I could never enjoy cooking and food again. But you can you just crave healthier choices. You enjoy getting full on just a few bites and having your eating in control for the first time in your life. The best of luck to you and just know I will be sending Happy Healing Thoughts to you and your family as you go through the surgery. I know you are going to do just fine. Damon, I am so happy for you that you finally have a date, altho it was rescheduled.........I hate that word...I also have a date, but a few months after yours. I wish you all the best on your new journey. I wish for you an uneventful surgery and a speedy recovery!! You Did It!!! I am so proud of you! Congratulations on your surgery date! I have some Zen Wisdom for you - Nothing exists but momentarily...One thing flows into another...observe things as they are, let everything go as it goes. This is to put everything under control in its widest sense. --- May God keep you close to his side as you travel your new journey. You will have ups and downs. You can always turn to us, your AMOS family, we will give support, comfort and encouragement. You will find this will be the best thing you could ever have done for yourself as well as your family. I know that was true for me. Keep us posted when you reach the "other" side. I pray for a speedy and easy recovery for you. Don’t forget to update your profile at least monthly. We all like to see how we are doing!!! Make sure you take pictures. It’s great to see the new you emerge!!! Not to mention the look on YOUR face when you look at those pictures and compare them in a few months! It’ll be a BIG WOW!!! Please remember too, that this is a *tool* to use. Make sure you use it wisely. Choose the right foods and measurements wisely! Feel free to look at my profile and see my ups and downs and know I’d not change a thing with anything I’ve experienced.
