Well your surgery is less than a month away. I am 11 days post op with Dr. Zahn and doing well. One thing I would recommend is to have someone there at the hospital that can assist in getting ou ice chips. I nursing staff the day and night of my surgery were wonderful. But the following two days not so good. The main troubles were getting ice (which you are dying for) and the slowness of the staff to respond. One time my roommate and I wated two hours for pain medicine. If you are taking any medications be sure to take them with you even through then pre-opp staff will tell you not to bring them. The hospital pharmacy did not stock one of my medications. Also be sure that they start giving you your medications the day after surgery, me and my roommate actually had to ask about starting our high blood pressure medication. Most of all don't be afraid to ask for what your need, but don't waite till the last minute. Best wishes...
