Melody... it makes me so happy to know that you are doing so well! I just took a peek at your profile...( cuz you are out of state and I miss ya ) The weight is melting off.... I am so happy for you... and a little more confidant in my upcoming surgery. I have 11 days left... and getting nervous... but when I see how well you are doing... I feel better. Love ya! Sheryl

Angel update on Melody... I just got off the phone with Mel... she sounds very tired, but insists that she is feeling really good at this point. She has been up walking the halls and says she feels stronger every day. She is waiting for the Dr. to come in to see her, in hopes of getting to go home. Says she is having trouble sleeping in that uncomfortable hospital bed. She is still on oxygen, due to some breathing problems right after surgery, and may have to go home on it too. Will keep everyone updated when I hear more.

I talked to Melody's husband twice today. Melody is doing better, now that she has gotten the NG tube removed... so I guess the leak test went well. She will be getting 2 units of blood, because she lost quite a bit during surgery yesterday. She is still in ICU, but will be moving to a regular room later this evening. Will update later after I see her. Thinga are looking up Mel... you are on "the other side". Love Ya!

Another Angel update on Melody... Just talked to her husband again and he said Melody is doing good... she is sitting up in a recliner now. Though she is having a difficult time with the NG tube in her nose and is begging him for water. She is getting used to her new best friend... the little button to get her Morphine! So she is still pretty groggy tonight. It sounds like she is doing just as well as can be expected at this point. The NG tube should come out tomorrow after she has a leak test done. Will update tomorrow evening after I get home from seein Mel at the hospital. :) Alright Mel... you are #1!!!

Hey! I talked to Melody's husband around 4:00 pm and said the Dr. Hornbostel said everything went fine with her surgery. She will be in ICU for the first 24 hours (routine for all his patients) so she can be closely monitored. She was still experiencing alot of pain at the time I talked with him. I will check back with Dan later this evening and post another update after that. I will also be going to the hospital on Wednesday to see her and pray she is feeling alot better by then. Sheryl

Hi Melody. As I type this I know you are in surgery and are in the best hands there are with Dr Hornbostel. I was there this time last Monday! I wish you nothing but the best. I hope your surgery is very uneventful and doesn't take 5 hours like mine did!!!! You have been a God send to me since November 11. I thank you for all the prayers you have given my family and my father through this trying time. I know God is watching over you and you will be fine after surgery. Sheryl said it had to be short, but she is off the ward right now. I went deer hunting this weekend and I killed a doe and my son Dustin killed a button buck on Sunday. Merlin & I went Monday but didn't see anything. We will probably go again this weekend. I still have two more tags that I can fill and Merlin still has all three of his. I hope everything went okay and your doing fine. Give me a call when you get home and let me know how you are doing.
