Butterflys are a great symbol of WLS patients. Like the caterpillar, we move slowly. We are not particularly attractive - and most of us are a bit round. Soon, we enter the cocoon stage, where we hide from everyone and everything, and EAT and SLEEP. Then, when the time is right, we emerge from the cocoon, spread our wings, and when they are dry, we fly off, seeking summer flowers. I love the analogy, and can't think of a thing that is better. So, first the butterflies in your stomach, and in your thoughts - pretty soon, you will have them in your heart, and you will be so proud of yourself, and feeling darn good, too!" Best of luck. Angel, I was just checking out the profiles and saw that you are scheduled to have surgery very shortly. I had the wls done almost three months ago and I have never been happier. I would do it again in a heart beat. Was it painful, yes, but I'm a wimp anyway. Just ask for pain meds. I know you will sail through the surgery and be a great loser. Angel we talked online a few weeks ago and I know you were both excited and nervous at that time. You have been in my thoughts and prayers. I am still planning on coming to see how you are doing which I know will be fantastic. My first meeting with Dr. McDaniel is also August 3rd. Get some rest and keep thinking skinny thoughts. lol
