In Joanie's own words, " I just think back and can't believe that just ONE YEAR AGO I was a pretty miserable human being, weighing over 300 lbs. People thought I was much older than I actually was, etc., etc. When I think of my accomplishment, it just frankly amazes me that I did it! I DID IT...this thing actually worked and I FEEL GREAT. Yeah, I'd like to lose 15 more lbs and I will, but I'm so happy with what I am RIGHT NOW. My life before WLS was happy, but now...it's wonderful. I can be the person that I'm supposed to be and be that person 100%. I will thank God that he gave doctors the knowledge to perform this miracle surgery...it truely has been a dream come true. Wow, Joanie, just ten more pounds and you'll make the century club. I'm sooo happy for you and proud of you. I can't wait to see how wonderful you look!

Hurray Joanie! I am so very proud of you and all of your courage. Welcome to the other side! I will be here for you no matter what you need. Take care and keep me posted.
