Hi Tania. Congratulations on having your surgery. You might not believe this, but the head hunger will slowly disappear. You'll get cravings every once in a while, but the head hunger will go away. I thought I would die the first 3 weeks because I could only have protein drinks. I cried almost everyday. I was very depressed. I never knew how much food was a part of my life. I started watching foodtv and have been addicted ever since. I'm 16 weeks post op. I never thought I would get here. Good luck and if there's anything I can do for you, please let me know. If those food demons try and get you, just close your eyes and picture yourself thin. Good luck!

Tania, congratulations on sliding over to the other side! I, too, am a stomach sleeper. I also teach childbirth education, so I simply did for myself what I teach my preggie moms to do. It's called "the flamingo." Get on your side, pillow under your head, pillow at your back, pillow at your tummy, pillow below that pillow (or a body pillow, if you have one), leg on the bed straight, leg on top up & over the (4th) pillow. Adjust as necessary until you are comfortable. Almost feels like you are sleeping on your tummy. This also helps support your incision site. I also encourage my moms to get one of those blow-up swim rings and sleep face down with their belly in the ring, pillows & blankets supporting the rest of the body. I didn't try that, so don't know if it would work for us. Check with your provider before you even consider that one. I found that sleeping in my recliner was the most comfortable for me. Good luck on your journey. Connie in WA

Tania, welcome to the losing side. Try to stay focused. it is kind of hard but as you get further into your journey it gets easier. I remember having head hunger but soon as I'd go to eat it. I would vomit. so that would end the craving. You will do just find. good luck to you hon. take care.**Hugs**

Welcome to the other side! You are in my thoughts and prayers as you begin your post-op journey. I hope your experiences will be as positive as mine have been. Hopefully all of the pre-op struggles and struggles of being newly post-op will soon be a distant memory as you enjoy the success of your efforts! As for wanting to eat, just keep telling yourself that you WILL be able to soon enough! Pick up a hobby or something fun and relaxing in the meantime to keep the headhunger at bay :)

I SAID A PRAYER FOR YOU TODAY~*~ I said a prayer for you today And know God must have heard- I felt the answer in my heart Although He spoke no word I didn't ask for wealth or fame, I knew you wouldn't mind, I asked Him to send treasures Of a far more lasting kind, I asked that He'd be near you At the start of each new day, To grant you health and blessings And friends to share your way. I asked for happiness for you In all things great and small, But it was for His loving care I prayed the most of all. (unknown author)FROM MY HEART TO YOU ~*~Hugs~*~
