Feeling Good, Joined a Gym, Weight Loss Stalled
Nov 23, 2007
Thanksgiving week is screwed, as my entire schedule was thrown off because I have had to work all 3 shifts this week at work....2 days of daylight...1 night of midnight, 2 evenings of afternoon shift this week. Next week, back on daylight, the following week, back on midnight. I am thoroughly pissed off about this and made it known that I am no longer a night shift person, I am DAYLIGHT now, and I will not work any more night shifts for them - they need to solve their staffing problems with someone else. This one night of night shift messed me up so bad this week....not enough sleep, could not meet my dietary demands for 2 days because I was sleeping. It was just a mess.
I joined Planet Fitness and like it there a lot. I may go today, because my work schedule made it impossible to go for 3 days now. I normally go after work in the afternoons, not generally on the weekends. It might be busier than I am used too. Guess I will find out today.
I have not loss any more weight for 2 weeks now. I'm at a stall. I hope that it doesn't last much longer, because right now, it's feeling like all the other failed diets in my past. Lose, lose, lose, then nothing for months. I'll just keep on plugging away. Gotta break this plateau!

In Genesis news, I drew a large drawing of the band....4 feet by 5 feet...and I took it with me. I stood outside the venue at sound check, they rolled through, saw my drawings (I made them each a framed print of their own likeness as a gift from me). They sent someone out to collect my drawing in a tube to take inside. The guy returned to let me know that the entire band autographed it for me. I asked him to take my framed prints into the boys. He smiled and said "No problem, sweetheart". That man ended up being Phil Collin's personal assistant.
The show was the best one I had ever been to.
Later that night at my hotel, one of the band members walked into the lounge where I was having a bite to eat with another fan. Turns out, they were staying in my hotel! The band member (Daryl Stuermer) sat next to us and we got to talk with him for a while about ordinary stuff. Very cool.
The next morning, I met Mike Rutherford and Chester Thompson each in the lobby. I got to talk briefly to both of them. They told me they really liked the drawing and they thanked me. Phil's personal assistant was staying on the same floor as me - we ended up in the elevator together. I never saw Tony Banks, but I did see Phil. He was less than 15 feet away from me, but he was the last to come downstairs, and when he arrived, the other stood to leave. They were waiting on him.
It was quite a memorable experience.
Not sure any more if GB is for me - maybe LapBand instead?

So after a lot of long term complication research on the internet, I'm a little concerned - this is what has always worried me about bypass.
Maybe I'm better off with the LapBand.
Oh heck! This really sucks. :-(
I know that I can not and will not be able to lose this weight on my own. I need some kind of help. I know that bypass will work quickly, but it has so many other issues that "could" happen, and it's not reversible.
LapBand doesn't work as quickly, but the results are comparable 5 years out to bypass - and it IS reversible (should there be a problem). It does require more frequent visits to the doctor for band adjustments.
I'm not sure where to go with this. I don't eat that much to begin with. So will I be helped more with restriction only - or the bypass combination?
I guess I need to call the surgeon and talk to my case worker. I don't want to screw this up for myself by switching gears on them.
Got my Genesis ticket!!!

I was so disheartened when I realized that they didn't appear to be scheduling any dates near Charlotte. In fact, none in the south at all. There are several in the Northeast, and a few on the West Coast, then there is only lonely dot hovering over Denver. FINALLY, they added Pittsburgh as a tour date! YES!!!
So I purchased my $225 ticket for Mellon Arena - only one ticket - this trip is my trip alone. My hubby won't drive 8 hours to see a concert. (But I will) :-)
Here is the best news: since I'm a fan club member, I got to do the presale. I got Floor 2 (front /center section) Row N, Seat 16!!!
I am like, 14 rows from the stage!! :-)
Turn it oooooooooooon!
Turn it on! Turn it on again!
Turn it oooooooooooon!
Turn it on! Turn it on again!
I have an appointment with a different psych

I'm both excited and worried about this next visit. I hope it goes well. She is familiar with the other guy and knows how he conducts his evaluations. I hope that his report doesn't taint hers. She is required to see his notes in order to include his name in her report. My surgeon's office said that I can see her as a second opinion, but she must include in her notes that I went somewhere else first.
Crossing my fingers that it all goes well tomorrow.
First post - boring post

Most people get through their psych evaluation in 1 or 2 visits. I'm on visit #8. This man is milking me for money. In the next visit, I'm just telling him that I can't afford any more visits and I need a decision.
So far, he's insulted me, made me feel like I am in denial of my eating habits, shows no interest in what I have to say because he's sure that I am in denial anyway, and he's managed to piss of my husband.
He says something to me, I tell him the truth, he doesn't really believe me - though he believes that "I believe" that it's the truth - yadda yadda yadda.
The man is a tall thin vegetarian, who can not possible understand 1) a woman's body and health issues, 2) obesity, 3) the fact that there ARE actually people out there who are just fat because they ARE - not because they made themselves that way.
I will be glad to be done with this guy for good. When I told the surgeon's office that Ive been to this guy for 7 visits so far - even THEY were shocked.
Believe me, when I am done with this and have his release in my file at the surgeon's office - I am going to let everyone know who will hear me about this man. I hope to get him removed from the list of physchologists and counselors that the surgeon hands out.
This man has abused me and the system.
