Pam, I'm a few days late but I wanted to wish you a happy 7 month anniversary! It sounds like you are still doing terrific! Congratulations on your awesome weight loss and keep up the good work!

Surgery went absolutely perfect. I was met by Sara the P.A. as soon as I arrived at the hospital. Sara spent an hour with me, preparing me for surgery. From there they rolled me to the pre-op area where I met Dr. Muzza, the anethesiologist. He was wonderful! We made a deal that I wouldn't take pre-surgery sedatives because I was very calm, but if I began to freak in the operating room he wouldn't let me change my mind. I knew I wanted the surgery..but was afraid of what extreme anxiety might do. I was given an IV drip with anitbiotics which took about an hour and then rolled promptly into the OR at 3 p.m. on the dot! Dr. Chua had stopped to see me in the pre-op area to answer any last minute questions. I was ready to go! Once I saw the OR, pure fear, or should I say terror took over. I remember saying...."I don't know if I can do this", and then I was being woke up. Voila...surgery over. Thank you Dr. Muzza for being a man of your word! No drains, no tubes, no catheters, only an IV was in place when I awoke. I was taken right to my room, and a couple hours later got up to use the bathroom. That was the first pain I experienced....when you stand the incision hurts like hell! Otherwise...laying in bed, not moving you wouldn't really know you had a 9" slit down your belly. Dr Chua stopped to see me everyday as did Sara and Deb the P.A.'s. Everything went perfect with my recovery, and I was released on Friday.
