I wanted to wish you well with your upcoming surgery. I hope that all goes well and that you are up and out and about real soon. I'll bet you are are doing a happy dance accompanied by a bundle of unwanted "NERVES", but don't worry be HAPPY! You are in my thoughts and prayers. Good Luck!

Hi Karen. Try not to be frustrated. Use the next 2 months on this site and any other tool you have access to, to learn more about the surgery, what you'll need to do afterwards for a lifetime and this will mentally prepare you as well. Mental preparation and support is very important and you'll get both @ Obesity Help.Com. Lots of luck in your journey, Margaret

Hang in there. I wish you were in CA as it is only a month till surgery with my surgeon. However, you will be starting your new life soon. If you have any questions, please feel free to email me. I would be happy to answer them as best I can.

Karen, 3-6 months is not long to wait for a lifetime of changes. As a single mother of two i can sympathize with your concerns. My children are a major reason i am doing this. I began talking to doctors in Feb. 2002. This Friday is my surgery date. Good luck in your journey.
