A Christmas clue
We love to see the smiles of childrens, moms and pops, by bringing our best goodies and thinking they can’t be topped.
One, two, three gifts under the Christmas tree, only if we would know that nothing in this world comes free.
We purchase gifts of all amounts, not taking time to think how would we be without.
When Christmas day comes I sit and drink my hot chocolate, I suddenly remember there’s one gift left in my pocket.
The gift seems small and has no name, I am curious and wondering if its a game.
I open the gift slowly with much anticipation, its wrapped so tight with such exaggeration.
Oh it falls to the floor and I gasp for air, hoping that it didn’t get a tear.
For my surprise what I see, brings me to my tired knees.
I thought I had this gift all figured out, and I knew exactly what it was about.
As I hold the baby Jesus in my hands with tears falling down my warm face, I start to yell oh only by his amazing grace.
This greatest gift of all I did not know to cherish, if only I would realize without it all would perish.
Of all the gifts received none could ever compare, no matter what was under that tree, it would not heal my despair.
This gift is priceless and for all to receive, sadly it is replaced with santa, candy canes and plenty of disbelief.
We put our hopes on the big fat red man, when all Jesus wants is for us to extend our tired hand.
No Christmas gifts for me thank you, for I have received a clue. It is not about gifts or cookies but about love and sacrifice that’s true.
You wonder how this amazing fact I know. For these two exact reasons Jesus was born, to bring love into earth and mend what man has torn.
