Ok, so I'm finally taking the time to change over my format.  I was afraid I would lose my journal from the past 3 years - but I'm not a great navigator of new technology - so this was a big deal for me!

It's been 2 1/2 years now since my gastric bypass with Dr. Elariny. - without a doubt -  one of the biggest personal life-changing decisions I've ever made (can't exclude marriage and children).  Things continue to go so well and I'm currently two weeks post-op from plastic surgery.  I had an extended tummy tuck with anchor incision, breast lift, and liposuction on hips and thighs.  This has been no picnic, and is a MUCH more difficult recovery than the gbp was - but the results are already well worth the down time.  I really debated between what I had done, and the lower body lift.  I made the best decision for me.  I'm still swollen and healing, so it's hard to tell if I'll be happy with my thighs and backside just from lipo, but I was having a tough time mentally dealing with getting comfortable with an incision that wrapped all around my body.  I think that was just me though - to hear others talk about it - they do just fine.  My other considerations were in feeling I would need the anchor incision to take care of the skin in my upper belly, and I really wanted to do something about my breasts now.  None of the plastic surgeons I consulted would do an anchor incision with a lbl, or breast work with the lbl - it's just too big of a surgery on it's own.  For me, I felt like I was certainly looking at two more surgeries if I did the lbl now, and if I did what I did, that may be good enough.  Still too early to tell, but I'm very happy with my breasts on my chest, and they are plenty big enough without implants!  Anyway, this is how I'm spending the last part of my summer vacation!

For those of you who are pre-op, or in earlier stages of your weight loss journey, you are in great hands with Dr. Elariny and his staff.  I will forever be grateful to his surgical skills and post-op care for the changes they allowed me to make in my life.
