"I didn't see Dr. Duckett until the day of my surgery. I saw his partner, Dr. Oweis. My first impression of Dr. Oweis was of a knowledgeable, pleasant physician. I felt he kind of rushed the appointment, but otherwise there was nothing negative. My second appointment, just 3 days before surgery was also with Dr. Oweis. Again, he came in and kind of rushed things but was pleasant.rnThe office staff have always been pleasant and helpful.rnThe only thing I didn't like about Dr. Oweis has been the fact that he seems to always be in such a hurry. Although he gives you time to ask questions, you don't even get them out of your mouth before he says \"O.K.,well then we'll see you next time.\"rnDr. Duckett and Dr. Oweis stress aftercare by requiring that patients follow up with a staff nurse monthly (and as needed by the physician). Options are given on how one goes about this aftercare. Patients can either set up a personalized office appointment with the nurse or follow up with the nurse at the monthly seminars and support group meetings. The nurse also helps determine when fills are necessary or follow up with the physician is needed. She kind of acts as a go between.rnDr. Oweis addressed the surgery with it's risks on my first visit and Dr. Duckett went over them again with both myself and my husband on the day of my surgery.rnOverall, I feel very confidant in Dr. Duckett's surgical skills. His bedside manner was brief, but to the point. He is not a \"hold your hand\" kind of doctor, but that's not what I expected either.rn12/28/05-any problems that I have had so far along the way, Dr. Duckett has been very helpful and takes time to listen to me as well as explain what he thinks the problem may be. But, if you have some complications and need their help, help that may not conform to their textbook of norms............they are NOT the guys you want to see. They are harsh, they can be mean and quick to judge YOU. Yes, you as a person and you as a patient, not necessarily your medical problem. For me, they have decided I have \"anxiety\" rather than gall bladder attacks or reflux associated with being too tight. I've also had the experience of them putting stresses on me to lose \"X\" number of pounds in a certain amount of time. If these are the things you are looking for, go for it. I'm leaving the practice."
