Keith Chung

"I was always thankfull that Dr Chung did my surgury, originally when his office contacted me I had been thru hell with dr scott in new orleans already .So at the time Dr Chung was an answer to our prayers. He does not take medicaid or medicare for bariatric surgurys,so being that I have only medicaid he was doing this as a gift ,this is how it was told to me in the beginning. Then it became well we will bill medicaid,Medicaid does not pay very much ,its not right ,but this is how they are.The surgury went really well,Dr chiung did try to talk me into getting the bypass and not a band, but I had researched this band and bypass for years and was making the best choice From thaT info. The first several fills where done in his office, aparently medicaid never paid for one.Thn I started paying for them myself when id get fills ,I had a problem one time ,I was very ill ,not keeping foods down ,this was like in march I think of 08,I called and asked if they could bill me and was told just to come in,(I did not have the money for a few days)Well I get there and was told after waiting for 45 min in the office that the fill cost was 200 and I had to pay it in full before talking to the dr,and That I should not expect them to give me free service,I was in tears(I was in real need of an unfill,I had just had a fluro done my pcp ordered and had a dilated pouch)But there I was being treated like a non human.Well my mom ended up paying for the visit over the phone with her visa.So I see the dr.He was nice enough, but basically told me that I did all this to myself that I should of listened and gone with the bypass. He said I was not eating corect and not following band rules.During the conversation he did say that my pouch could heal but id have to be very careful and follow rules. And that if it happened again the only thing was could do would be remove the band(I have no fluid in my band at all)I leave his office ,did not really feel better, had been increasingly nauseas, vomiting, bloating.Next month had what I thought where female issues that turned out to be a miscarraige.I did not know I was pregnant(married 17 years no children)When I saw Dr Chung I was weighing about 330 pounds,it was terrible,im now at 290,so that part is better.rnI did call his office sometime in june and talk to some one in his office ,I was wanting to speak with dr chung about him removing my band, either just removal or both removal and bypass. The lady says well you are a medicaid patient and dr chung does not take medicaid and there is no point in him talking to you because hes not going to remove your band. She told me no one would because medicaid is not going to pay for a removal, they only give a person one chance and I blew mine.YES I WAS ACCUALLY TOLD THIS BY A WOMAN THAT WORKS IN HIS OFFICE AND TAKES INCOMING CALLS!rnSeptemberthe 8th I was diagnosed with acid reflux,I thought I was dieing,my pcp says that this could have been acid reflux all along keeping me sick.I have been taking nexium, had a bad bout of acid relux over last few days andbefore that for a few weeks had not been eating, barely drinking anything.Haveing bad migraines, went to ER,they did blood work ,said my electrolites where ok,so I didnt need an iv and they said they called dr chung ,but I never saw him.rnI just wish that I would be treated fair, yes I should have went with bypass,ut I didnot, and maye I did not do well enough with my band rules, even though I think I did the best i could do.I thought Dr chung contacted me to help me,so why is he not willing to help me now, this sort of bariatric surgury requires after care and sometimes revision, this is why I wanted the band because it is reversable. Not I need it removed and no one will help me.I realize the drs and health care workers are fed up with medicaid ,its not at all right how little they pay and yes some people are abusing the medicaid system.Im not one of them.rnI just want to be normal.I think if the band was removed I could eat chicken and salad and small portions and continue to loose .Now I know id loose if I had the bypass or the sleave even.I know it would be a big deal if dr chung did this to help me,at this point I have no way of talking to him,my emails are not replyed to and I just told yall what happened when I called.Yall pray for me please, thanks.Dr chung really is a great surgeon."
