I'm moving it to lose it.

Hi everyone,
Things are going really well for me after surgery, I amaze myself
My husband keeps asking me; are you in any pain, should you be doing that and so on as I dance around the house. I got up this morning and went to the mall, get this, for exercise! Yep, exercise. I have to admit that I did buy 2 cute blouses, but I walked my buns off (60 min). I forgot to take my water bottle with me, not a good idea. I would have gone another round but I wanted to avoid the food court at all cost so I came home to quench my thirst with a protein shake
. My husband and I are going walking in the park in the morning. I hope he remebers that even though I am doing so well, that I am still only 9 days post-surgery (Military Man). So far, so good

GLAD I DID IT!

I would do it again today. I have not taken ANY diabetic medication since the day before my surgery. This was part of my number one goal. I am still taking my high blood pressure meds for now, I am hoping that after I see my PCP that will also change. I have gone outside for a walk everyday since my surgery except Monday, it rained like crazy. So, my husband and I went to Walmart and I got my walk on. I have not had any pain, some soreness and very little discomfort. I am not sure how much weight I have lost thus far, I am trying to stay off the scale until Friday. I will let everyone know.
I DID IT!

HELLO EVERYONE,
I did it, yes I did. I got banded this morning at 0710, I was in the recovery room at 0800. The surgery went excellent and without any complications, GOD IS GOOD (and so is my surgeon
). Around 0930 I arrived in my room where the best husband in the world and the greatest mamma was waiting
. Shortly after arriving in my room (10ish) I had a had ice chips, about 20-30 minutes later I was sucking on an orange popcicle, yum. NO Pain so far, I am amazed. At 1200, the nurse brought me strawberry sugar-free jello, unsweetened ice tea, chicken broth and a grape popcicle. I ate half of the popcicle and 5 spoons of the broth. I went for a walk around the ward 2 times, she had to come and get me to take my antibiotics. At around 3:30 I started to feel a little discomfort, soreness mostly. My nurse advised me to take some pain meds before it got worse and possibly more difficult to control. She administered some Loritab elixer
I hate liquid meds. The nurse suggested that I use the jello as a chaser, I ate about 4 spoons and I was full. That was about 20 mins. ago and I feel great. I have to stay the night because of my sleep apnea, I can't wait to go home tomorrow.
Thank you all for your support, prayers, advise and well wishes. I am so happy to have found this site and such great people to communicate with. Keep the mail coming. I think the Loritab and Toridol has started to kick in
will chat later.
hugs & kisses

Tomorrow is my big day,
Yeah!!!! so far so good, I am half way thru my day on this liquid diet and it's not as bad as I thought it would be. So far I have had a KEG of water, an Atkins Vanilla Shake, orange jello, SOBE fuji apple pear life water and some tomato soup (make that 2 cups of tomato soup)
. I have a slight headache but it is manageable. In about 2 hours I will be on the road driving to my surgery location, I hope that I will not drive my husband crazy on the way(jumpy and on edge and all). I have to be at the hospital at 5:00 am tomorrow morning and my surgery is scheduled for 7:00. I hope I can sleep well tonight and not toss and turn like the last 2 nights. Did I tell you how excited I am? I am about to pop. I have to say is the number one thing that I am looking forward to first is ditching all of these frickin MEDICATIONS! Then the weight baby. I am welcoming my new journey with open arms and a lighter scale. I hope to be chatting with you all real soon. Wish me luck and God's speed.

My big day
Apr 06, 2009
OMG, how time is flying. April 9th is my big day and I am filled with all kinds of emotions
and
ful. I did not get any sleep last night, I think I had a panic attack be cause I was finding it very hard to breath. I even had to pull out my CPAP machine and dust it off. I can't remember the last time I used that thing. I feel a lot better this morning. I start my liquid diet tomorrow (cranky time) please pray for me and my wonderful husband. I have so many things running through my mind, I feel like I am forgetting to do something but I don't know what
. This weekend I packed my bag for the hospital; pj's, slippers, ipod, good book, personal items and sneakers & sweat suite to wear home from the hospital. My husband and my mom will be there for support, and my daughter and sister will come help out once I get home, they are the best. Is there anyone else out there having surgery this week? If so I would love to chat. Wish me luck!
