"My first impression of Dr. Jawad was that he's very \"to the point\". He's not very talkative but willing to answer any question(s) asked of him. His office staff is very professional and helpful whenever I need them. The pre-op appointment was very informative. Every aspect of the surgery, risks (of surgery) and aftercare was covered thoroughly. It lasted for about 4-5 hours and they also issued each person a dvd of everything covered for your own future reference. The one thing I wish was done differently is that Dr. Jawad would visit the patient (after surgery) and talk to them about how the surgical procedure went. Him (Dr. Jawad) or the nurse will speak to the family member(s) once surgery is over, however, I just think it would be nice for the Dr. to speak with the patient as well. The day of surgery the patient does not see Dr. Jawad at all. The only time you (the patient) will see him is during pre-op and at discharge (from the hospital) time.rnrnAt the hospital, Ocala Regional Medical, Dr. Jawad has his own bariatric wing, therefore, the staff can cater only to the requirements of bariatric patients.rnrnI would recommend Dr. Jawad to anyone I know who is thinking about having bariatric surgery. I had to drive 2 hours (each way) from Jacksonville, FL to Ocala, FL for office visits and surgery but it was well worth it."
