My name is Debbie. I am 41 years old, married and a mother to 5 girls. I started this process in March 2007. I have 2 major insurances, neither of which would pay anything. I  ended up paying for the surgery myself. I had my RYN surgery on 9/6/07. My start weight was 347, with a BMI of 56. i had to do 2 weeks on the clear liquid diet before i had the surgery. The day of surgery my weight was 314. I thought, WOW! I lost 33 pounds in 14 days, if I could only do this for the next  6 months, I wouldn't need surgery!  I was very nervous but my surgery went great.
