Two years already????? Unbelievable. For me this journey was a good decision. I'm maintaining my doctors goal. Success! It still amazes me how differently I'm treated now by strangers.

Six months!!!!

I had my six month visit to ST. V's on 10/02/08. I was down 50% of my excess weight and my BMI was 34. Much better than 49 last August don't ya think? He said I was right on target. In just 7 more pounds lost he feels the surgery/change in thinking is a sucess. He expects me to only loose another 20 or so pounds by March 09 (my one year surgiversary). Feeling Great and looking so much better!
Three month check up

Three months check up on 06/30/08. Said I was above target. The expectation was 30% at three months and I was at 34%/40#. Telling me NOT to rely on liquid protein supplements but to start solids. So I'm on the hunt. Gave me info on biotin, b complex and zinc to take three times a day to help with the hair loss I'm experiencing. Figured out by the discussion that I was not taking enough calcium/citrate a day so I've boosted that up too. I need a much larger pill minder for all the vitamins I'm taking. Going to an outlet mall on Sunday. Need pants, cheap pants.
The scale moved

I know I said I was going to avoid the scale but....I'm two months out as of yesterday and I thought I'd just suck it up and do it. It moved!

I was at a job site this week and there just happened to be a scale in the room. I thought HMMMM let's see, I eat like a bird so....I gained 7# what????? I am very swollen for whatever reason. But my clothes are finally hanging. Yippee! It was difficult being in a hotel this week and trying to get in all the protein and liquids. I'll have to plan better for next month when I'm in a hotel again. I had a D & C and an endometrial ablation on Friday 5/23. Feel great. Had a little cramping and tissuey drainage but doing good. Now for my hair. It's just a falling out. Little by little and then I'm afraid it will be noticeable. I use Nioxin. Oh well.

I'm 225.5 today. Two weeks out from surgery. Still stuggling to get in enough calories and proteins. Have first post op support group meeting on Thursday 4/17. Can't wait to hear pureed options.
