Well, I'm two months out now and have lost 48lbs and 38 inches!  I've gone from wearing a 3x loose scrubs pants to a large scrub pants!  I feel so much better and actually feel pretty normal now.  I hope to get below the 200 lbs mark by next week...water and protein...water and protein!  I still see a fat girl in the mirror and know that it will take awhile for my mind to catch up to all the changes in my body.  I haven't been walking since school started.  Working full time and homework with the kids among all the other evening chores has squashed out my evening walking routine.  Looking for a good exercise video to start after the kids have gone to bed.  Need to tone and firm up.  All in all feel great and am so happy I made this decision.  I so appreciate my surgeon and the great work he does and that I've been given a very unique tool at my disposal to help into a more healthy body!

1month postop visit

Today I had my 1 month postop visit and have lost 22lbs since surgery.  I don't seem to loose any during the week but have been averaging 4 lb wt loss over the weekends.  Strange.  Doc told me to up my exercise to twice daily.  Since going back to work, it has been very difficult to find time to exercise once much less twice with a family to take care of in the evenings.   So I think I'll try walking 40min in the evening instead of 20min twice daily.  My total weight loss is 32lbs.  The inches seem to be coming off and my 3xl clothes are loose!!  I switched to swallowable vits (one source prenat, and caltrate - which I found out today is ca carbonate not citrate, so I have to switch).  I need to go find a swallowable b-complex soon.  I go back at the 3 month mark for labwork and checkup.  I hope to have lost another 30+ lbs by then.  Hopefully.  I'm very happy I did this, I feel great and have a happier outlook already.

1st post op visit

Went for my 1 week post op visit today.  I have lost 14 lbs in two weeks , 7 of which came off since WLS.  Dr Syn seemed to think I was doing well with the walking - I upped my walking time to 40 minutes twice/day.  He felt my incision looked good and said I could start driving!!  Whoa!  Going a little stir crazy and getting a little bored at home.  I go back Aug 8th for my next checkup.  He did tell me to increase my calcium from 3x's/day to 4x's/day - yuck!  Oh well, small price to pay for strong bones!

1 WEEK POST OP

Jul 21, 2008

Today, I am 1 week post op and feel really good.  I'm so thankful God brought me through the surgery and I am doing so well.  Off all pain meds, walking 20 min twice a day, no problems with nausea/vomiting.  Having a little hard time getting my 64 oz water in, taking my vitamins religiously.  Go to see Dr Syn tomorrow for checkup and weight!!  Already lost 2 inches off my abd, waist, and hips = 6 inches and haven't even remeasured anywhere else!  So thankful for Dr Syn's abilities and skill and God's goodness and my family's support.  Have ate sf/ff pudding, yogurt, cottage cheese, ff cream soups.  Advanced my diet and tried scrambled eggs, boiled eggs, refried beans, and chili all blended up and with no problems so far.  Looking forward to deli meat and cheese and other things as time progresses.
