One year down!! :)
Sep 28, 2010
I have not been on this site for such a looong time!! But I remember how helpful it was to see so many success stories when I was making my decision to have the surgery. I had my one year surgery anniversary on the 8th of this month and I have lost a total of 125 lbs. I look and feel great and no one would ever know I even had the surgery unless I told them.
Some foods are still hard to eat and I often avoid them, but I can eat pretty much everything I ever did, only a LOT less of it!! :) And I'm still completely satisfied!! I've been at my current weight (160) for a while now so I think this is where I'm going to stay. My roomie and I go work out during our free time so I can try to get some muscle tone. I can shop where I want now and I have been taking my big clothes to a second hand shop for others to use.
If there's a question in your mind if Gastric Bypass is the way to go, I say GO FOR IT!!! I'm glad I didn't wait another DAY!!! I was 23 and 285 lbs. It doesn't matter how old you are, it will enrich your life! You'll feel so great about yourself, just continue to take your vitamins and make healthy decisions! :) Good luck to you!!! :)

I've got a date! :)
Aug 18, 2009
My surgery date is 09-08-09!! :) I'm so excited! I still need to find out if I have to have a screen put in to stop blood clots, since I have Factor V, but hopefully I won't have to have one. I guess we'll see!

Update...
Jul 19, 2009
I just scheduled my 4 week pre-op classes and also found out that my insurance has approved me to have the gastric bypass surgery!
Now all I have to do is schedule my pre-op appointment with my surgeon and from there I will schedule my surgery! I’m really nervous and excited. All prayers for me, my surgeon and his team are appreciated. Thank you!!
