Hi all!! So I had RNY or Gastric Bypass on January 14, and I had a Journey!! Came out of surgery, started walking, kept down my first ounce of water. Then I couldn't keep anything down!! Stayed at the hospital an additional day, had an upper GI study and my surgeon said it was because of the swelling and sent me home. 2 days later on January 17, I was back in the ER because I couldn't keep anything down, I had a bad case of the "foamies" and one of my incisions hurt like heck!! I had a CT scan, and it was discovered that my sutures were too tight from my new pouch to my intestines. Back to surgery I went, to have the sutures loosened. After surgery, everything was fine, was released to go home. January 22 was my follow up with the surgeon at his office. I showed him the incision, and it had a hard ball that I could cup and feel with my hand. He thought it was an infection, I KNEW it was an infection (nurse). Was started on a course of antibiotics, with the hopes that the infection would begin to resolve itself. Follow up scheduled for January 24. Went to his office, and after seeing me and the amount of pain I was in sent me to the ER for (surprise!) another scan. It was an infection that needed to be drained (only me). He drained it in the ER, and I had to stay at the hospital for 4 days on a course of antibiotics... Now I'm mended, and ready to get this weight off!!
