Hi Deborah, I had my surgery one month ago today and I am down 30lbs and feel great. I am usually a very nervous person, but on my surgery day I was totally at peace. I had put my trust in God and I knew he would be there with me guiding the surgeon's hand. When I went to the hospital I took a CD with so really great Praise and Worship music and listened to it until they took me to surgery. I was so calm the nurses even told me that there was a very calming presence in my room. I will be praying for you monday and there is no distance prayer. God Bless. Kim

Deborah - it's very normal to be nervous. Try to remember why you are having this surgery - I'm betting it is to save/enhance your life. You may want to do some breathing exercises. The one I did was to breathe in (deep breath) and hold it in my lungs to the count of 20 or 25 or 30 (or whatever you can do). This not only increases the oxygen in your bloodstream, it helps condition your lungs for the surgery. When I'm stressing, nothing beats it for me. Good luck and have faith in God and your surgeon.
