"I think Dr. Garth Davis, and his father, Dr. Robert Davis, are true pioneers in this industry. They understand that obesity is a genetic problem and do not berate you for being heavy. I have only met with them once, where I went to the office for the first meeting. They did give a very good over-all presentation on the surgical treatment of morbid obesity, which I found very interesting and they answered most of my questions. I have liked their office personnel, generally, where they helped me get approval from my insurance company. I go in for my pre-op appointment next week, and so, I will have more to say about them then. I'm scheduled for my Roux-N-Y on November 9, 2004. Lately, I have read that most of the problems associated with deaths and other complications from gastric bypass were 90% caused by the lack of expertise of the surgeons performing it. This is where the Dr. Davis' excel. They have performed over 200 procedures, and have not had one death yet. They have an excellent track record, and this is where you need to spend some time researching and finding out about your proposed doctor's credentials."
