Terri - What great news to hear how well you are doing! I know it must be a tremendous relief to be past the worst hurdle. Now you can concentrate on following all of your surgeon’s directions! How encouraging to have such a great weight loss so far. May God just pour out His blessings on you and help you heal quickly! I look forward to seeing your progress reports in the future!

Well it's finally happened. I feel better. I have more energy than I know what to do with. I have this eating thing down. I'm down 42 pounds (after a 2 week plateau I might add!!) Everyone says all 42 pounds have fallen off my face and breast. I'm excited about the future. I'm happy it's over. The new me is on her way...

Well after a long time of not being able to eat without throwing it right back up, it was found that I had a stricture. I had it repaired today. Once again, me and the anesthesia just did not have much luck with one another. They tried just pain meds to make me sleepy but I pulled the instruments out of their hands. It appears I was not sleepy enough. So then, they did "twighlight sleep" or concsious sedation. Yep, that worked! was not awake that time! I was able to eat mashed potatos tonight with no worries. I may make it yet! Been a rough month..Look forward to feeling good again

First, congratulations on your surgery, sounds like it has been complication free! One suggestion I have is to get someone to get you a wedge pillow for your bed. I have an 8 inch one (darn, maybe it's a ten, but that doesn't matter too much) Anyway, it was a blessing to me when I came home from the hospital and for about 2-3 weeks. I slept on one occasionally before surgery for reflux, so it wasn't totally foreign to me, but I think you might find it comfortable. The bed and bath shops usually have them for around $10.00 - $15.00, a good buy for comfort! Good luck in the future! ((HUGS)) Kathleen

I am now 16 days post op and down 25 pounds. I have to say that I wasn't prepared of what a slow recovery process this would be. I still can't sleep in my bed and food is still something I only eat when necessary..life is so different. I'm not sorry that I did it, only hoping to feel like myself again soon.

I have no idea why i keep updating this thing but here goes...I'm 10 days post op and other than a bit of pain under my left rib, I'm doing well. I've lost a full 20 pounds this week, but 10 of that was surgery/water weight. In any case, I'm feeling better and recovering nicely..

Happy Anniversary to you and your hubby!

4 days post op. Today is mine and my husband's 8 year anniversary! I'm starting to feel human again. The pain is decreasing, my energy is increasing. My mind still has not really comprehended that it is over and I'm on the other side. It doesn't seem real. None of it! My husband says to relax, and just watch the weight fall off. So that's what I'm trying to do..

Well I made it home. Still in a lot of pain (particuarly under my left ribs!) but otherwise, happy to be out of the hospital. I'm bruised from head to toe, some I know how they got there and some I don't. Anyway, like my angel informed you I had a bad panic attack waking up from surgery, so much so that they wouldn't let my family see me and they almost tied me down to the bed. Thank God something they gave me worked and I was able to calm down. Anyway thanks for all the prayers and well wishes...

I thought I'd stop in and say I hope your surgery went well, you have very little pain, and you are up and running in no time. Cathy Whitmer
