Thirteen days in the hospital but I finally made it home!! WOO...HOO!!! I have a feeding tube and a drain but at least I am in my own home. I just want to remind anyone that has breathing problems before surgery to make sure that you are very faithful to you meds before surgery. I think it may have made a difference for me. But I am home at last and thankful to be here.

Hi I received an email from Carol's sister- she had surgery on 4/10- she developed some pulmonary problems was in ICU for a few days. Has developed a leak at her stoma- "Anyway......no surgery for repair...just hoping that the anastomosis will take and heal area on its own. So right now she has 3 drains exiting from her abdomen. Carol continues on IV antibiotics.....takes IV MS04. ...did not get to go home today.....another emotional day...SHE WANTS OUTTA THERE!!!! SHE NEVER passed her original leak test(I took the info a drugged Carol told me and she thought that she had passed.......but after having a total of 3 tests so far....and even seeing the dye in the enteral feeding that they are infusing...the dye colors her stools but this enteral feeding is infusing into her "old stomach" via the G-tube." Please send Carol your well wishes- she could use alot of prayers at this time.

Carol ~ So sorry to hear about your setback, but it is just that .... a bump in the road. Try to stay positive and focused on the end .... a healthy life! Please know you have a monsterous group of folks behind you! My prayers and thoughts are with you.
