Hi Renee! Congratulations on your surgery date! This scripture has meant so much to me on my WLS journey. Jeremiah 29:11 - "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the LORD , "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." I pray that you will claim this promise as your own as your journey takes you to a new healthier life. God Bless You!

Congratulations on your upcoming surgery and your new lifetime journey on the losing side. Right now you are probably on a rollercoaster emotionally - excited, nervous, scared.... This is normal - don't let it freak you out. Take the time over the next few days and 'center' yourself mentally - focus your mind on other things and keep yourself physically busy too. You will find that your big day will be here in no time and you will be calm and ready for it. We will be here ready to welcome you over to the losing side and support you in your journey. Good luck and hope everything goes well for you. Sarah G LapRNY 6/22/04 295/262/150

Congratulations on your surgery date! I have some Zen Wisdom for you - Nothing exists but momentarily...One thing flows into another...observe things as they are, let everything go as it goes. This is to put everything under control in its widest sense. --- May God keep you close to his side as you travel your new journey. You will have ups and downs. You can always turn to us, your AMOS family, we will give support, comfort and encouragement. You will find this will be the best thing you could ever have done for yourself as well as your family. I know that was true for me. Keep us posted when you reach the "other" side. I pray for a speedy and easy recovery for you. Don’t forget to update your profile at least monthly. We all like to see how we are doing!!! Make sure you take pictures. It’s great to see the new you emerge!!! Not to mention the look on YOUR face when you look at those pictures and compare them in a few months! It’ll be a BIG WOW!!! Please remember too, that this is a *tool* to use. Make sure you use it wisely. The first year it’s pretty easy, after that I’ve been hearing (I’m not speaking from experience as I’m not a year out yet) that it gets increasingly difficult. Choose the right foods and measurements wisely! Good luck and God Bless!!! RNY 10/31/03 down 114 pounds– I’M IN THE CENTURY CLUB!!! 1/29/2004.. Well I met again with the GP. He oficially diagnosed me with Morbid Obesity and High Blood Pressure. Together we filled out the forms that go upstairs to the COMBINED MANAGEMENT DEPT. He told me that it could take anywhere from 7-10 days for them to approve and/or disapprove the referral from him. They are suppose to send me something in the mail advising me of what the decision is. The Gp seemed pretty confident. BUT as for me, I'm not getting my hopes up. I already have an appeal letter drafted. I've learned by ready many profiles on this website, that persistance is the name of the game as well. I intend on making sure that the COMBINED MANAGEMENT DEPT. know exactly who I am and remembers my name. I'll kill them with kindness. Keep me in your thoughts! I want this surgery more than anything I have ever wanted in my entire life! I'll let you know what happens next!
