Tomorrow is the BIG DAY. I am ready for my NEW beginning. I will be praying for all that are thinking about having this surgery. If you need support, I will support you.

Hi, Arnize. I haven't heard from you in awhile. I was just wondering how things are going? I'm wondering since you haven't updated in a while, if you've changed your mind about surgery? If you have, that's okay. You'll know when the time's right for you if it's meant for you to have the surgery. My surgery is Tuesday. Please keep me in your prayers. Take care, Shelley

Sounds great Arnize! I'm so glad to hear things are progressing for you! How's your family? I wish I could tell you that things with my family are still going great where my surgery date is concerned, but my mom's getting pretty uptight and NERVOUS about the whole thing and is trying to talk me out of it, but this is just something I feel I've got to do. I can't explain it, but I'm sure you understand the determination behind our decisions to proceed with this. Don't get me wrong--mom's still supportive and is going to be there with me and stay with me and all of that. She's just worried about her baby. I guess we will understand one day when we become moms ourselves! Keep me posted! ---Shelley

I am currently doing my exams that I need to complete for the surgery. I am ready!! I plan for early July for my surgery date. I will keep you posted with updates!! Arnize B

Hi Arnize. Just checking in with you to see how things are going. Are you getting excited? I'm just 17 days away from starting my new journey, and I can't wait! You'll be where I'm at pretty soon and we can celebrate together! Hope all is well with you! Keep me posted! Shelley

Well, Arnize, I read your last posted comment, and I'm so happy for you. I was just checking in with you to see how you are doing and how things are going. Hang in there. It's an emotional roller coaster ride, but just fasten your seat belt and prepare for the trip! We're in this thing together. I'm keeping you in my prayers all the way over here in Alabama! Isn't it wonderful to know that we serve a Savior who isn't limited by distance and can hear the prayers of someone in Alabama for someone in California!?!!??!?! May God bless you Arnize and change the hearts of your family members to support you.

I woke up this morning with a new plan. The next time my family decide to share my information about my personal decision regarding my surgery,my reply will be "Please mind your BUSINESS." Ladies and gentlemen I am going through with this. My prays have went up and my blessings are coming down. AMEN!!

Arnize, it's me Shelley. Hang in there. Please keep me updated on your family situation. I don't know what to tell you except that they will come around once they know you are going to go through with this. If they don't, that is an issue they will need to deal with. This is too big of a burden for you to contend with. You've got to prepare mentally and emotionally for a smooth surgery. You can't do that if you are stressed about the reactions of your friends and family. Keep your chin up. I'll write again later. Promise!

5/26/04 As of today I found out I need to pay 3800 dollars for my surgery because my doctor is out of my network. However, I still have bag up plan. My next appointment will be 6/21/04 with Cedar's Sinai with Dr. Furman. My the Lord say the same I will continue one more day. AMEN!!
