Dear Tena~~~~Some of the information sounds a bit misleading. All I can tell you is to keep on researching. Gum chewing isn't allowed because if you accidently swallow it it could obstruct your opening. One of our members swallowed her gum a few months ago. Maybe she will update you on how things went for her. PEACE
