MARTHA--Congratulations to you and your husband on your recent surgeries! What an awesome thing for the two of you to do together! I know that you are thrilled that you are both finally on the other side of all of this. I, too, had my surgery done by Dr. Clements on August 2 and have lost 85 pounds to date. He truly is an awesome, gifted doctor and I know that he cares deeply for his patients and wants to see them succeed. Just remember to do everything he tells you and you will be successful. I had absolutely no pain after my surgery (never took any pain meds in the hospital or after I went home!) and I was up doing whatever I wanted to do the day I went home from the hospital! My surgery and recovery was far easier than I ever expected--I know that this is because I was covered in prayer during the whole time and because I (and you) have the absolute best doctor around when it comes to this type of surgery. I wish you both much success in your weight loss goals, and that you will have an easy, uneventful recovery. Keep me posted! Your WLS friend--Diane Harris

We are so glad to hear that you are doing great!! It is so nice to see another married couple going through this together. My husband and I had open RNY's, but a few months apart. His name is Douglas Wilson and he had his surgery on 10-9-01. He has lost 100 lbs so far!!!! I am so proud of him. I had my surgery on 06-28-01 and have lost 80 lbs and a ton of inches so far. Those darn MEN seem to lose so fast. Anyway, congratulations to you and your husband. I wish you all the best. (LA MESA, CA.)

Martha and Thomas, Congratulations!! It sounds as if everything went as planned or better.I am absolutely thrilled for you both and will be anxiously awaiting your updates. BTW, I will be in Birmingham for the Holidays so please order some "Christmas like" weather for me.God Bless, Diane
