4-17-02 - Well let me update this profile. Since my surgery . On April 5th I started out at 312 pounds at surgery . My hospital stay was pleasant, Although my open surgery was great I had an extremly large incision from my breast to my belly button. They removed my Gallbladder as well due to about 4 large stones. The doctor was surprised that I never discovered the stones prior to surgery with the gallbladder scan that came out normal. I was in from Friday to Monday Morning. They let me go early Because I was doing so good. They had given me instrustions to start my vitamins as soon as a arrive home and start protein 1 week post-op. so I did all as followed. On Saturday Morning after aking all my meds which consist of flinstone w/ iron , tums for calcium and B-12 sublingual under the tongue. all of which was already a regular event for me . about 30 minutes later I developed a feeling in my whole body like a burning sensation ,then my skin became beet red colored all over my body. I immediately went to hospital something was not right. by the time I got there they had given me another shot of somekind of steroids and I could not breath , my throat was closing up that when they decided to give me epifedrin ( sorry if spell wrong) after that I was fine , patches all over went away and the admitted me overnight just for observation in case of any other reactions. They released me on Sunday , I still Don't know what will happen about B-12 , But the doctor is considering the shots once a month under care. After all of that I am back home and yesterday I went to the doctor and they removed about 25% of my staples out. The rest should be all out by April 24th. And I get off Liquid Diet I believe. I will try and keep you posted. Oh and By the way I have lost 28 pounds so far!! wahooooo
