9-15-02 Hi everyone, sorry its been a while.I'm now 17 days post op I'm down 10 lbs. That seems like so little compared to others but the surgeon didn't seem concerned. I feel like I have been totally blessed, I haven't had any trouble keeping anything down, I guess that could be a mixed blessing because I did cheat and have coffee and creamer but the fat and sugar was low. It didn't bother me at all but I just had a small cup and I drank it very slow. My energy level was really good but then I got a sinus infection and bronchitis, so that really zapped my energy for the last couple of days. I've been really slaking on my exercise ,I hope to buy a bike soon thats something I enjoy doing so maybe it will be easier. I'm going back to work in a couple of days. I'm not having any pain anymore so I think its time to return to a normal day. I still have no regrets and look forward to a downward journey! Just getting rid of 10 lbs. makes it so much nicer to my knees! I'll post again when I have more info. Thanks to all of you for being there!

9-3-02 Hi everyone I'm back. The surgery went real well no complications and I was in the hospital for only 2 1/2 days. Now that I'm home I feel pretty good but I do have some pain getting in and out of bed and bending down is hard but the pain meds keep it under control. I'm not wearing one of those stretch bands it seems like that would keep the pulling on those muscles to a minimum. I'll have to ask the Dr. why he doesn't reccomend them. I have a follow up appt. 9-9-02. So far none of my worst fears have happened. I feel pretty good, I can walk up and down stairs no problem. I have even been doing some light house work and laundry. Of course I take lots of breaks and a least 1 nap a day. I don't have to think about food too much because everything is liquid. So far I haven't had any dumping no throwing up at all. I get full so fast it is unbelieveable. It is easy to know when to stop because you feel so full and if I go too fast I feel sick or more like queasy. Well sorry to just ramble but I want everyone to know even 6 days post op and I have no regrets! I'll post soon.

~j~ Angel update: Rhonda sailed thru lap RNY with flying colors! She was sweet and sleepy last night with her lovely morphine PCA. She walked the whole nursing unit with me and practiced with her incentive spirometer. After I made her work that hard, I let her sleep. Please stop by this surgery page and wish her well-
