Mary~ You are a true angel to give your friend in need your surgery date! You will certainly be blessed for such a selfless act! Knowing there is someone else out there experiencing the surgery the same day as I am gives me even more support. I wish you the best with your surgery & a speedy, uneventful recovery. I will be thinking of you!

Thank EACH and EVERYONE that posted messages of support and prayers. The friend that had her surgery today in my place is doing very well. For those that don't know the story here it is. A friend had her first Lap surgery 12-27-2001 and came thru extremely well. She was doing well with weight loss and then started having trouble due to an ulcer. Her opening from her poch to her intestine kept closing up causing her to vomit and had to be reopened 4 times in four months. She had to have a revison done and it had to be an open incision rather than a Lap. She had been thru so much even with her great wt loss she had no choice but was going to have to wait to get her place in surgery. I left a message telling the Dr. that if they needed to put her in my place I would be glad to reschedule. So when the Dr. caled yesterday I did what most anyone else would do and rescheduled my date to May 7th 2002. I have been heavy all my life so three more weeks will not be that long, especially after all this friend had gone thru. I also want to say that our Surgeon is the greatest. He cares about his patients and even calls them himself day or night. He is a kind gentle person and reassures both patient and family. He did my daughters lap. 2 weeks ago and she is doing very well. Please continue to pray for my daughter, our friend and for me as that is the greatest gift on earth! I will be praying for all my new friends as we continue to lose our way to better health and a better life. Love Mary I will keep you posted!

Mary, I am wishing you a successful, complication-free surgery and a smooth, quick recovery. I had my Open RNY on 12/10/01 and have absolutely NO regrets other than not having had it several years sooner. It is, without a doubt, the best thing I could have done for myself. God bless you as you begin your healthy new life.
