I have only posted once and didn't get any response, so I haven't posted for quite a while. I wasn't sure that I had anything worth saying, so I have just been lurking and learning as much as I can from all of you. I went to the doctor about one year ago, however, never made it to surgery for lack of funds and insurance denial. About 2 months ago I decided on a whim to see if I could qualify for a loan. I close this week. This past friday I went back to the doctor to see when I could get on the schedule for surgery. I assumed that it would be several months, so imagine my surprise when they told me I would go in a week from tomorrow. Yes my surgery date is set for April 22. I am not scared, but not really excited either, I just know that this is right and I am really at peace with this. I just wanted to let everyone know that I am going to get to start my knew life in just one week!!! Thanks for listening, Shelly.

I had my first consult with Dr. Halverson last year in April. I have had so many problems with insurance and financing that I have finally decided to just do it self pay and get on with my life. Dr. Halverson put me right at ease, he treated me like a real person, not a fat person, and explained how the whole procedure works. I have another appointment with him 4/12/02. They say that he is about 3 weeks out for surgery. I want to get on the schedule immediately. I will post my surgery date as soon as I get it. I love this site, I have people that I can talk to that really understand where I am coming from. Thanks
