Adam Naaman

"In my opinion and from my experience, Dr. Naaman is a wonderful and skilled surgeon. I trust him completely. I felt at ease in his office and with his staff. I am glad he is my surgeon. I had my surgery 9/20/2002 and it went smoothly and I feel great. I really liked PAM (RN). Someone else said it best, she is the glue that holds it all together (paraphrased of course). Amanda is very helpful as is Bernice. The other office members are not as helpful. I will leave it at that. Oh well, Dr. Naaman is excellent. :) July 2003 I am now 10 months out and I am a little disappointed in Dr. Naaman's after care. The office messed up on my six month check up and I did not get in until 10 months (and I had to call them to find out why they never sent me the check up card). At the three month and 10 month check up, I did not get to see Dr. Naaman, I saw a PA (or nurse). I now feel that Dr. Naaman just does the surgery and lets you be. As I said I am disappointed. I would like to see a surgeon for my follow-ups, but maybe that is just me. When I went in today, they said, "Ok You are done." I said, "no, I want to come again at one year post-op." They said ok, we will make you an appointment for July 2004. I said, no, my one year is September 2003. This was hard for them to understand. Since they missed my six month checkup, and I came in, in July, they didn't think I needed to come in again.I finally convinced them to see me in October. I am not sure who I will go to for my six month or yearly follow ups once my year is up. I guess it will not be Dr. Naaman's office."

"When I first tried to call for the nurse's station, my nurse's buzzer was not working. I had to yell down the hall, crying for a nurse. Luckily a visitor in the bed next to me was able to call a nurse for me. They did fix my buzzer a short time later. The RN that worked my first night shift was horrible. When he answered my call (yelling for the nurse) I told him I was in pain. I was in so much pain, I was crying for pain medicine. I asked him to call my doctor, immediately. I don't think he did. He told me I needed to walk. I could barely sit up much less walk. I forced myself out of bed and I forced myself to walk. I almost collapsed the first time. He did not help me in our out of bed. I am sure it was gas, but his bedside manners were severely lacking. He brought me some pain medication (not sure what it was) and said, does this help?. I told him NO. He said, it must, you aren't yelling anymore. I was in such pain; I still had tears in my eyes. I asked him if he called my doctor, he didn’t answer. I am sure I was rude to him at this point. The whole time he was talking to me, he was looking at the ceiling or the wall, but not at me. I told him I was still in severe pain. This was about 7 PM. I was still in pain at 11pm. This time, a new nurse showed up and said she talked to my doctor (didn't the other nurse?). She gave me pain medicine and I felt better right away. I asked her about the other nurse, didn't he talk to my doctor, she said, no she did. After she gave me the medication, I was able to walk more. I was so relieved. I had to call them each time I went for a walk to remind them to boots back on my feet. The would have left them off. :( Because I had to help myself in and out of bed so often, the hand with the IV swelled up to almost double the size of my hand. I was so bruised. When I left the hospital, my left hand was double the size of my right hand. It took about three days to return to normal. The nurses never checked my hand or said anything about it. My husband noticed it. I hope I never have to stay at this hospital again. If I have a choice, I won't."
