"Initial consult with Dr. Heap on January 21, 2003. Dr. Heap has been doing this for a long time and is very well informed. I guess my fear was being told that I would not qualify for surgery. My bmi is not quite 40 but with co morbid he thought that I would benifit. He also metioned that he did a mini gastric bypass on his son. I felt that someone who is able to put their feelings aside and do surgery on their own child has a lot of confidence. His staff is helpful, prompt and nice. I expect more aftercare info upon insurance approval. Surgical competence outweighs bedside manner in my book, but I'm sure both are great in this surgeon. Overall rating after first visit, 8. "
