"Hi my name is Debby and I will be having the roux-n-y surgery scheduled for June 9th at Frye Regional Medical Center in Hickory. My surgeon is Dr. Leland Cook ,I met him first at an orientation back in October of 2002 at a small convention center located in Hickory. This was not the first time I had learned of this type of surgery . I have been overweight most of my life and had tried every diet and weight loss product coming and going nothing seemed to work. At this orientation Dr. Cook was so down to earth and explained throughly what the surgery was about and the risk that went along with it. We also had a chance to meet some of his staff and they are as much informative and down to earth as he is. As I decided to search further and decide to do this I met with Dr. Cook and his Staff in a short meeting at which time he went further indepth about the surgery and what to expect. I also met with his staff at the same time and I have been really impressed with the caring and genuine concern they have for each patient. Dr. Cook and his staff are very pleasant to talk to. I would recommend them to anyone looking for a surgeon for this type of surgery. The insurance approval was very fast for me I work as a teacher assistant and have State Teachers Insurance.Any body looking for a physiologist for their evaluation I would suggest Lifeworks in Morganton I found they were one of the cheapest and one of the best. But on a scale of 1 to 10 I would give everyone I have incountered through my decision to have this surgery a 10 and many thanks to them.So far I have nothing negative to say but I have not gone through the surgery yet, but I have 100% faith in this surgery TEAM."
