Dear Terry: Congratulations on your surgery date! I must say, that since June 10th happens to be my birthday, I just KNOW that your surgery will go great! I saw your post about what to take, and I had seen one about a week ago from someone who said that she really didn't need that much; a toothbrush & toothpaste, hairbrush (or comb or pick), lip balm because the lips get very dry, going-home outfit ( I intend to take a lightweight duster that buttons down the front to wear home). She had said that she wore hospital gowns while there, probably because they open in the front, which makes it easier for nurses to check your incision, also saves your clothes in case of any drainage or leaking. If you're like me, you may want to bring some reading material. Might also want to take some slippers or socks with the non-slip rubber on the soles; those floors get awfully cold! I also intend to bring a travel kit with soap, mini-shampoo and conditioner in case I need to shower while there. One thing I find very handy and take with me EVERYWHERE is a packet of baby wipes. I use the fragrance free kind, and this way if you need to wipe your face or hands they are ready.
If you have anything else to add, would you please e-mail me? I'm not having surgery until (hopefully) mid August (that date's not set in stone yet) but I'm already getting my bag packed! I'm so excited! Good Luck and God Bless!
