"I was very impressed with St. Francis, however, the rooms were quite hot and very small Only room for a bed, chair, and bedside table. Other than that though, I was very impressed with everything. Also, Dr. Shakh (sp)..the Anesthesiaologist, was another great aspect of my surgery. He was very comassionate and caring and took the time to answer questions and held my hand when my first surgery was aborted. He is a major asset to his profession and others should take his lead in the medical field and be as compassionate and caring as he is. He and Dr. Stickler make a wonderful team and I wouldn't have had any one else be with me for my Gastric Bypass surgery which was postponed for 3 wks. Nothing due to Dr. Stickler or staff though. "
"Dr. Froese was very attentive when I had my appt with her. She is very supportive and compassionate and not judgmental at all. I felt very comfortable talking with her and sharing some very personal information with her. "
"Kate is always available to answer questions or help when we have a problem, and is a vital part of the LifeQuest backbone. Thank you Kate for ALL you do for us. "
"I first met Dr. Stickler when I attened his seminar in Nov of 2002. My first impression of him? "WOW, he is cute!" :-) Actually I was very impressed with Dr. Stickler in so much that he really seemed to know what he was talking about, and he didn't just talk, he listened. In a room full of people (probably between 80-100) he opened up the floor for questions and listened to each and everyone that had something to say. We also got to hear from Tina, his Nurse coordinator, Kate the Dietitian, Dr. Froese, the Psycologist and Jennifer the Physicologist. They all had very valuable information for all of us. They too took questions from the audience. We were given packets with lots and lots of information in them. So I took mine home and went over it there, because I didn't want to miss anything in the seminar.
I have only come to respect Dr. Stickler and his staff more and more with each and every interaction I have had with them. The office staff is well educated in this field and if one doesn't have the answer it is nothing for them to say, "Let me find that out" and they really do call you back if you have to leave a message. They are courteous and considerate of patient confidentiality.
I would tell anyone interested in seeing Dr. Stickler, to call ASAP to get into the seminars and listen to everything he says. He knows his work and everything he tells you, you can count on being accurate.
You basically have to sign a contract that you will commit to first year post-op aftercare program. His facility is called LIFEQUEST...and that is what this surgery is. A life long committment. His aftercare program is very important to him and his patients and the support group is the best in the state. We are the Bariatric Surgery of Southern WV, support group. Dr. Stickler comes to at least one of the support group meetings and we have 2 a month. He also does teaching classes in his office 2 nights a week, either him, or the dietitian, the psychologist, the psysicologist or Tina always have a class on Tues or Thurs. Support group meetings are on Mondays and Fridays sometime in the month. We also have a calander of events for every month.
Dr. Stickler is honest and if he thinks you are a surgical risk or that there could be complications he is always upfront about them.
I love this man dearly and thank him every day for the opportunity to see my kids grow up.
He not only is an expert in what he does, but he has such a wonderful bedside manner.
THANK YOU DR. STICKLER FOR EVERYTHING!!!!!!!!"
