The office staff is excellent, and several have had bariatric surgery themselves.
The only thing I disliked was there was no initial one on one consultation, just a group session... but then I never asked for a one on one either so it may be available.
He's very compassionate.
Aftercare is stressed a lot, especially the first year, but also throughout the lifetime of the patient. The aftercare program seems very structured.
All the risks were addressed in the written material given out, and then he went over them at the group consultation.
So far I would rate him excellent.
Now that I'm post op I have to say that Dr. Maguire is absolutely AWESOME. He visited me in the hospital every day at least once a day. When I went in for my staple removal I actually saw and talked to Dr. Maguire and he personally removed the staples and drain (it's been my experience this is usually done by a nurse or tech) and none of it hurt in the slightest. He's quietly reassuring and really just has a presence that is comforting because it lets you know that he knows what he's doing and he's going to be sure you're doing okay.
