"My first impression of Dr. Monk was that he cares about what he is doing. He seems caring and understands the problem of obesity. The staff at his office are great, especially Megan and Sue, who I have called numerous times with questions. They always took the time to answer them completely, and I never felt rushed. Remember, the only dumb question is the one you never ask. There is a support group that you may go to before or after. You have regular visits for the first year and then you see him yearly after that. I was told the risks of the surgery in simple easy to understand words. I even asked him how many patients he had lost doing this surgery and why. He answered honestly and did not hesitate at all in giving his reply.
