Shannon, your big day is getting close! You're making a life-altering decision and its perfectly normal to be nervous and emotional! Before you know it you'll be on the other side and starting to feel great!

Ups and downs and driving those around you crazy preop are part of the rites of passage to the thin side. This is major surgery and you are giving up your best friend (food). You will be fine but you won't know it until a few weeks out.

Shannon: Here's to a quick and speedy recovery. Remember to drink, drink, drink, and walk, walk, walk. Also don't forget about that dreaded incentive spirometer...no matter how much it hurts. It will save you a world of problems. Happy New Year!

Hi Shannon! Congratulations on your surgery date...it's almost here! Woohoo! Wishing you a safe and uncomplicated surgery~ As far as the hospital, I brought A LOT of stuff I didn't need! If I were to do it again, I'd just bring one pair of PJ's, a couple pair of undies, my toothbrush and hairbrush and hair scrunchies/clips. The hospital basically has you in a hospital gown and hospital slippers and they provide you with things to shower with when it's time. I brought lots of magazines and makeup and a CD player, and didn't use ONE of them! LOL It's up to you though...bring what will make you feel comfortable! Good luck and keep us posted!
