Phillip Corrado

"I had my psych evaluation on June 20, 2002 by this Psychologist. He was 15 minutes late for the appointment, never once introduced himself, left the door open to his office while interviewing me, anwered phone calls during the exam and talked with a secretary in the middle of my interview. I am a licensed clinical social worker with a private practice of my own and I found this man to be very unprofessionl. Not only that but he seemed not to understand or have any insight into the post-op experience of a gastric bypass patient. He actually rcommended Overeaters Anonymous to me for post-op follow up care. He might as well have recommended Weight Watchers. I was soi angry by the time I left, not to mention insulted buy the way I was treated by this person. He doesn't seem to realize exactly what bariatric patients go through and how their eating rituals have to change and that Overeaters Anonymous Prescribes 3 meals a day and nothing in between which Post-op patients cannot do because of the specific type of prodedure they go through. He also didn't seem to be aware that my surgeon had his own support group for his patients after surgery. If you get referred to this man I recommend that you ask for someone else who understands the entire process. Debbie Hedgecock, LCSW"

Milton Smith

"Dr. Smith was the nicest, kindest and most caring physician I've met in along time. He just makes you feel good by just walkin into the room. He smiled, took my hand and introduced himself and seemed very warm and genuine. I think it was the genuiness of his presence that made me feel so comfortable with him. He reassured me about patients he had known who had done very well with the surgery and told me that I was considered very low risk and should do quite well. Of course he did qualify that by saying low risk doesn't mean no risk. H e was very reassuring. He took plenty of time to answer all my questions and never made me feel rushed. He made copies of his report for me imediately after the consultation and gave me copies and immediately faxed one to my physician. I was very impressed."

Wes J. Powell

"I thought he was great! very comfortable to be with. He answered all my questions. Was very kind and patient. Plus I got to hear him both him and his partner, Dr. David Lourie, present at their Symposium they hold at Huntingon Memorial Hospital for their prospective patients. It was great. A lot of their post-op patients were there to field questions from the audience after the lecture. I felt totally at ease after listening to everyone and seeing the actual video of the surgical procedure itself. Dr. Powell is a soft spoken man with an easy manner about him that makes you feel calm just being in his presence. He seems very up to date on everything. I actually have my initial private consult with him on Tuesday,June 11th. So these impression were from just meeting him and talking with him at the symposium."
