HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME, HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO ME!!!!!
Today is offically my one year aniversary! I started at 409, size 32-34, Now I am 243 and size 18 top and 20 bottom!!!
So much has changed in my life in just 12 months time. Other than just losing pounds, I have gotten rid of "dead" weight, you know those fair weather friends that like having the fat chick around to make them feel better about what they eat because they can blame you...hehehehe. Well I am the one with the last laugh, Good Riddance!!!!
I have a new found love of playing in water parks, Kids jungle gyms, Rollerskating, Sitting in a movie theater seat with the arms of the seat down and my WHOLE forearm resting on the armrest. I had no idea what I was missing out on. I was in major denial that those things meant nothing to me. I have always had what I "thought" was high self-esteem, my friends always commented on how I used to walk with my head high, I was such a total FAKE. I NOW TRULY HAVE MAJOR SELF-ESTEEM.
To those of you considering surgery, You will regret it at times, but thankfully those times pass. I had them too. But the outcome is so worth the pain, fear, self-doubt etc..... Go for it. You have only pounds and inches to lose.
Happy Birthday to the new me that has been hiding inside for all these years!!! Welcome back Kat!!!! I missed you!!!

Okay So I have been bad!! I have an update for those of you following me.
I had Lap RNY on July 12, 2001 (409 pounds). As of Two weeks ago I am at 293,I havent had any problems for months. I can eat whatever I want to eat (unfortunately). I started in a size 34 jeans, WELLLLLLLL I went to Walmart and bought a pair of size 24 jeans last week. I cant believe it.
To those of you that posted your feelings of depression, of why did I do this, of what have I done. Well I have one thing to say, IT WILL PASS. You did the right thing. I know for myself I wouldnt be able to do half of the things I can do now, yes I can do so much more. even though I am only half way there, I feel like a complelety different person. Keep up the good work and like I always say, Keep your chin up. HUGS

Okay everyone! I need to brag alittle.
I tried on the "small" pair of jeans in my closet and THEY FIT!! I havent been able to wear them since the summer of 98 when I started to show from my last pregnancy. I had at that time lost 105 pounds on Redux. Of course I gained it all back when they took it away.
I am now two months and a week out and I have lost 74 pounds

Kathy, First, I am happy for you and that you are recovering so well. Second, I have only recently (within the last 2 weeks) decided to have the surgery and to use Dr Wongsa, since you and several others have posted that he is one of the best in Houston. My first meeting with him is 7/30/01. I hope to join you on the other side. God Bless you and please pray for me as I attempt to make this journey.
