It's one year since my surgery and I have lost over 130 pounds. I haven't weighed myself in a couple of weeks...I don't even have a scale in the house. I'm feeling great. I'm down to regular size clothing and the selection is overwhelming at times. I still migrate to the "Womens Section" but the 1X are really too big. I still don't eat chicken..but that's a small price to pay for success I have had. My butt is no longer numb 8-), and my scars are almost invisible. I did go through a bout of hair loss, mostly noticable to me, and not to anyone else. It seems to have stablized now though. At my 6 month check up my Selenium was low, but everything else was normal. It did take me about 6 months to get all my energy back, and I still like to take a 30 minute nap when I get home from work, but that is probably just old age.<BG> Thanks for all the prayers and good wishes....

Surgery was delayed 6 hours, so that was a real bumer, but everything went fine once I got started. I did have my left but fall asleep, and it is still somewhat numb almost two weeks postop. My doctor thinks I must have been lying on the or table on a nerve. really a strange sensation. I left the hospital on Friday morning, and it was none too soon. I spent a week at the Mt Sinai's hotel and flew home today..Thank God. I was tired of living out of the hotel, and I missed my bed. 8-) When I saw Dr Herron on Friday, I had lost 15 pounds...so that is great. Thanks for all the words of encourgagement and good wishes. I'm on the otherside and mending. Linda
