HAPPY REBIRTHDAY

catherine J. 23 years, 7 months ago

Hi everyone, its been sooooooo long since I posted, I got a Happy Anniversary from the site, as it is after midnight It is my anniversary, had the surgery 9/17/01 at 7:30 am. Well I now weigh 114 lbs I never weighed this as an adult in my life!!! I no longer have diabetes or high blood pressure. I have had alot of problems with a severe stenosis (closing of the exit of my pouch) they had to remove staples endoscopically back in April, After 1 year I still cant eat meat, pasta bread or anything like that. I am going for my ??? I dont know how many endoscopy dilation's on wed the 18th, they say it should be my last (Ihope so) I have been suffering from severe malnutrition, nails all broke half way down my cuticle, lost most of my hair, but its starting to come back, its been rough, and I really miss eating the things I love like Pizza and pasta, but hey maybe one day :) I guess all in all Im happy that I did it, I have my ups and downs, but when I look in the mirror and put on a little strappy slinky dress, and I can actually see a waistline, it does put a smile on my face :)Hope all is well with everyone, bye for now Cat -- catherine johnson

Hi all, I have not posted in awhile. Its been almost 3 months since my surgery on 9/17, and I am down about 60 lbs. Its unbelieveable!!!!! I do have some problems though, I can not eat meat of any kind, I cannot eat period! tomato soup is for the most part all I can eat, I have to go for a swallow test, may need opening enlarged I believe they do a endoscopy for that. I am not getting the nourishment I need that is for sure, even liquids give me a hard time, everything just seems to sit at the top of the pouch, soooooo as of today I am still not sure that I should have had surgery. The day i can eat withought being sick and throwing up is when I will say this was the best thing I ever did till then ????? :) Cat

Good Day all; I have not posted in awhile, I am a little more than 3 weeks post op, down 30lbs, Ill take a 10lb a week weightloss anyday :) I do have some problems though, if anyone has any suggestions I sure would appreciate it. 1st off, I cannot get water in, the only way I can is to chew icecubes, water sits right at the top of my stomach, oops (pouch), as does most liquids. 2nd, I cannot eat, about the only thing I have eaten without any nausua is cream of wheat. I did try chicken twice NO GOOD nausea and once vomited. I am supposed to be on puree, but somehow I cannot eat pureed meat, brrrrr, gives me the chills just thinking about it. So basically In reality, I am hardly eating or drinking, I feel like I may give myselp some more medical problems if this keeps up. I will not say I regret surgery, but I really need to know that it will get better, I dont want to spend the rest of my life thin but empty :). WIll I EVER enjoy a meal again??? nothing tastes right!! any advice would be appreciated. Thanks to all. Cat
