**Update** The second Phase of the diet is now in effect: Cream soups, cottage cheese,1/2%milk,protein supplements,Chewable Vitamins, water, water, water. Sounds Great Huh!! Best Part is the Walking,Walking,Walking. No really the 30+ min walk a day is doing wonders. The only thing is my Drain tube is really starting to hurt bad and I can't wait till friday it comes out.Still haven't gotten sick once. (knock on wood) P.S. Pray for Artemus Hart to get well soon...

***UPDATE*** 5 days since surgery and I have to tell you walking does help.I have been walking on the treadmill 30 mintues a day 10 minutes at a time.Thats about the only time I don't hurt.If I sit around for a long period of time I get real stiff and It hurts pretty bad.Thats when I take my loretab.I am used to sleeping on my stomach and I really haven't gotten a full nights sleep since I came home.Don't be mistaken I am feeling better everyday.Still not hungery and I have a journal I am writing down everything I am drinking/intaking,walking and my Blood-pressure.I go to 3 oz. of fluid starting Sunday.I do feel somewhat depressed but It will pass.I have been reading alot of other peoples journals and it's very common. -

***UPDATE*** I'm Home.... Felt good to get home.In just 4 days Post-Op.There is hardly any pain when I am still, but when I standup or sit down, cough It's hurts pretty good. The walking is helping alot. Can't walk far or to long without getting winded, that will take sometime.I am still doing breathing exercises and today I started being able to swallow Water and Ice 2oz an hour.I can also have clear beef or chicken broth 2 oz an hour.It will be this way for at least two weeks then I go to 3oz. and so one.Main thing is walking.Until my new stomach can handle enough food/protien until then I will be weak but slowly getting stronger.I have not been hungery or craved anything since before surgery.just been wanting water. This Is gonna take longer than I thought but It will be better for me in the long run. Can't wait till next week when I go for a follow up and see how much I've lost I feel like I've lost some.I alos have this big drain tube in my side to check for leaks they are gonna leave this in for the next few weeks. How it works is If I drink some colored drink and the same color comes out of the tube we have a problem.

Cecil Nalley's Message: I must say it was nice to wake up in my own bed/recliner/computer chair. I didn't have a bad night but just couldn't seem to find my comfort zone. I am feeling much better mentaly but am still sore physically. I just wanted out. It might not be such a bad thing to stay that extra night in the hospital. I hope you get to feeling better real soon. I think we might kind of know what hot flashes are like. I woke up once this a.m. with teeth chattering and the next time hot and sweaty. Good Shower. Tell Angie high and you guys take care. Read some more before and after postings. They always make me feel better. Thanks -The Nalley's -

***UPDATE*** Dr.Bour says I can go home Friday morning that I was doing really well, but that I need to not rush getting better.I have plenty of time to get adjusted to the change and get my energy back up.I will have a test for leaks thismorning.Unless I have a leak where they did the surgery, I will get to go home friday morning.
