I wanted to thank everyone for their kind congratulations on my 1yr anniversary and update quickly. What a year this has been! I have made it to my personal goal of being within my ideal BMI in a year - I managed to slip in this week! I have lost 180lbs and will begin looking into reconstructive surgery as my body looks like that of a baby elephant! The choice to have surgery is a difficult one for most of us. Noone can make the decision for anyone else - changes are scary, the committment is forever, and unfortunately complications happen. I am happy I found the courage to make this choice and I wish that everyone finds the right path on their journey and that they get there safely!

OK - not much of a poster here, but I try to visit daily and answer posts on the Q/A board. I had to update to say: 11 months post op -174lbs! BMI one point from ideal!! (I have now lost more than I currently weigh!) To all the new post ops going through trials, mood swings, nausea and second guessing - I would do this again in a second!

Jean, Congratulations on your enormous weight loss. I know you have to feel so much better. I am 3 months out and have lost 57 pounds and I know I feel so much better. Keep up the good work. I am also like you, no complications, thank God. Happy losing, Jeanie

Rat-tat-tat (poor version of a drum roll!) - 9 mos. post op today and -162lbs!!!! My BMI is now 29 which means I am ecstatically JUST OVERWEIGHT! Wearing a size 12/14. NO regrets or complications!
