Vicki, jealousy is an ugly thing and it sounds like your friends are very jealous. Why wouldn't they be, you look gorgeous! Next time say, "Sickly? Bet I could beat you at arm wrestling!" Then just smile and move on! *laugh* Big hugs!

Vicki, I read your post about the rude comments from your card playing buddies. I just want you to know I think you look fantastic. You are an inspiration to us all. You were correct in your thoughts about your friends just feeling threatened. Don't let it get to you. I'm also very uncomfortable about people making comments about my weight loss and asking me how much I've lost, etc. I feel it's rude because my weight is a very personal issue to me. I don't share this surgery with anyone unless God leads me to. I hope I look as good as you when I reach goal. God bless you and have a great day. Brenda

I am actually reporting on my ANGEL ^j^....Vicki takes such good care of me during my WLS pre-op craziness...but it is time for me to give some "credit" & praise back to her. <p> Vicki had Lap RNY surgery on May 25, 2001 (followed by complications and OPEN surgery 36 hours later). I AM PROUD AND SO HAPPY TO SAY THAT SHE IS #1 HEALTHY and #2....READY FOR THIS.......5 POUNDS BELOW GOAL RIGHT NOW!!! She now weighs 130 Pounds!!!! Total loss of 115 pounds!! SIZE 4 clothing!!!!! WOW!!!!! WOOOOOO- HOOOO...and let me tell you folks SHE LOOKS MARVELOUS!!!!! WOW! WHAT A HOT MOMMA!! LOL....(I know she is laughing right now reading this!!)....but YOU KNOW IT'S TRUE QUEENIE!!! I am SOOOOOOO PROUD of you...I wish I knew you last year when you were going through this all....but I am so VERY HAPPY I know you now!! You are an inspiration to me....you motivate me to want to be better...and I look at your "BEFORE" pictures and I see myself in them.....and I want to be able to look at my "AFTER" pictures and have them reflect the same great job you did with your WLS. Vicki, I am so sorry to hear of our friend's loss. It is always so heart-wrenching to hear of the death of a child - they are supposed to out-live us. And I take to heart your request that everyone hold dear to them their loved ones...I immediately thought of my beautiful 7 year old daughter, and how thankful I am to have her - I will be giving her an especially big (and frequent) hugs tonight when I get home from work. Your friend's are in my thoughts, and I will say a prayer that God watch over them in their time of grieving. Lisa
