Hi everyone, Thanks for all your encouraging words before my surgery. They are so uplifting and encouraging. Well I am two weeks postop and feeling good. I was only in the hospital for three days--had surgery Monday morning 02/04 and went home Wednesday night, 02/06. I had a lap RNY and very little pain, thanks to the good nursing my first two days. The night shift on the third day was atrocious and so I pretty much told them I was leaving. I love Dr. Swain. He is very compassionate and has a great sense of humor. I highly recommend him. I saw him for my 2-week postop check and had lost 14 pounds! Too bad everything still fits and no one notices yet. To think how long it would have taken me to lose 14 pounds on diet and exercise alone and not have any noticeable change is very depressing. I am on a mechanical soft diet at two weeks and very thankful for that. I already had my first (and only I hope) experience with dumping. I put 1/2 teaspoon on some dry mashed potatoes and paid the price. Dr. Swain says about 15% of patients react that way to fat. Oh well, Molly McButter, here I come. Hang in there everybody who is waiting for their day in surgery--IT IS WORTH IT!

I pray that your day goes well and that you are up and walking sooner than even the doctor hopes. I wish for you the best, and hope you loose all the weight you desire to loose as you begin the new you.
