"September 2, 2003 - My friend Brooke and I went to see Dr. Keating. I was on the exam table and Brooke was seated in a chair across from me. Dr. Keating walked in and immediately came up to me and introduced himself extending his hand. He then turned to Brooke and also introduced himself. He asked me if I had done a lot of research on weight loss surgery? Then asked if I knew anyone that had gone through this surgery? After my responses he said very matter of factly...I am here to tell you the risks. He was very straight forward with excellent eye contact and body language both of which let me know he truly cares. He explaned the procedure in detail and let me know exactly what to expect. If a person had walked into his office without doing any research, he would scare the hell out of you...but he wants to make sure you understand that this will not be a walk in the park. This is a permanent procedure and not a decision to be taken lightly. Dr. Keating made me feel confident in his abilities as a surgeon. Brooke is a pharmaceutical rep and has had to deal with surgeons and she was very impressed by Dr. Keating which made me feel even better."
