"I first met Dr. Steward when he came to our WLS support meeting in Dec. 2001. He seemed very nice and talked to us and answered questions for 2 hours or more. He explained that he and his partner Bernita Bersten, MD were going to start doing LAP RNY's here in TOpeka starting late Jan or early February of 2002. Both partners are currently experienced thoraic surgeons for the Tallgrass Prairie Surgical Group. I made an appt for a consult with him for Jan 8,2002. His office staff are all new at the questions we WLS people ask. Im sure they will get to know the answers in time. I offered to be his first patient. Scarey, I know, but SOMEONE has to go first, don't they? I will post more AFTER I have the surgery, ok?"
